New York Giants for crying out loud. And if that wasn’t enough, we will have an agitated Chicago Bears team who got their undefeated winning streak ended facing a New York Giants team looking to continue theirs.
The Chicago Bears got their hopes of a perfect season to match the mark of the 1972 Miami Dolphins by, guess who, the Miami Dolphins. Chicago Bears QB, Rex Grossman, just played miserably. He just completed 18 out of 42 passes last Sunday, throwing three footballs to the Miami Dolphins defense.
The Chicago Bears were able to survive a broken Rex Grossman on the NFL Football field against the Arizona Cardinals with their defense led by last season’s defensive player of the year, Brian Urlacher. THIS TIME though, against Miami, their mighty defense just couldn’t come up with the stops they needed to bail Grossman out again. As for the New York Giants, this is an entirely different team that came out after the Week 4 bye.
New York Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin, turned the Giants’ season around during that Week 4 break. The Giants were coming off a bitter loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and players, most notably Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey, were grousing about the coaching.
Coughlin simplified things on offense and defense. The offense went back to using the run to set up the pass. Tiki Barber, in his final regular season before retiring, Yep, the Kansas City Chiefs are rolling. And they’ve done that with franchise quarterback, Trent Green, down and out. How did they come to this? Well, Damon Huard is playing sensational NFL Football, making Kansas City thinking about the playoffs already.
.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards already has gone on record as saying Green, out since Week 1 after suffering a concussion, will start when he’s healthy. Following Sunday’s 31-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams, Green said he’s targeting the Nov.19 game against the Oakland Raiders to take the field at again.
That buys Edwards time to make what Huard has turned into the toughest decision.
In his first year as Chiefs head coach.
Benching a hot Huard for Trent Green will be an extremely difficult decision for Edwards.
