His terms Warne felt now was the right time to call it a day. Pic Andrew HenshawIF Test cricket were a planetary universe, today it just lost its Sun. Shane Warne's retirement leaves not only a hole in Australia's team, but the sport as a whole will be the poorer for his absence. He said today he always went out to be an entertainer whenever he played, and from the moment he ripped "that" ball past the outside edge of Mike Gatting's bat at Old Trafford in 1993, that’s exactly what he did. Remembering a dull moment when Warne was bowling his extraordinary leg spin is as tough as playing the man himself. Every ball he let go had the potential to do something - be it rip and bite and bamboozle batsmen, or end up over the fence for six.He was, quite simply, a joy to behold. Those of us that have been alive to enjoy Warne's career should be grateful, because generations before never had the privilege, and generations after likely won't see anything like Warne, either. Reader PollIs Shane Warne more valuable a cricketer than Donald Bradman?Vote now He remains, for two more Test matches, part of a team that has reinvented the way the game is played in all its forms. He retired from limited-overs cricket in 2007, but has continued to play Test matches and across the past decade has been arguably Australia's best player. Across time, it's a big call to make, but that is often the case when you are talking in the present. Was Warne as good as Bradman? I can't say, but his capacity to win games for Australia was, in my view, second to none.Cricket is a sport ruled by batsmen. Lists of "cricket greats" are littered with them, and bowlers are often the poor cousins than creep in lower down the list. Such lists represent batting orders in a sense, with the run makers coming first, and the bowlers at the tail. Even Wisden's list of "five cricketers of the century" featured Warne as its only true bowler. Garfield Sobers was the other, but he was an all rounder. Jack Hobbs, Vivian Richards and Donald Bradman were the others, and all but Warne have been knighted by the Queen for their efforts. Warnie's rough edges and controversial off-field antics may mean he is never bestowed the same honour by Her Majesty, but if anyone is to be knighted purely for services to cricket, he deserves to become Sir Shane of St Kilda ( or Ferntree Gully). To win Test matches, teams have to take 20 wickets. You can score all the runs in the world, but without those 20 wickets, you cannot win a game. A successful bowler, in that sense, is arguably your most valuable weapon. Warne was the most potent of them all. He'll pass 700 Test wickets soon, and has made the game's most difficult skill - leg-spin bowling - look easy, beautiful, and deadly all at the same time. Whatever you do over Christmas, take time to enjoy a couple of Warne's last overs. It's almost certain you won't have the chance to do so ever again. http://www।enterbet.com/ Relive the memory with authentic Fox's U-Bet memorabilia। Fox syrups has been a part of New York tradition for License Plate Frame .
