This is America. We bet on everything. That's why the Super Bowl is so big ... March Madness has blown up ... heck, we love to bet on reality TV shows. We can't just have a lottery; we need the Powerball. Well, for those needing a football fix, along comes the NFL Draft. And, yes, you can bet on that too.
Check out Bodog
www.enterbet www.enterbet.com player propositions for the draft. You can bet on:
Who will be the #1 pick in the draft? JaMarcus Russell, Calvin Johnson or any other player? Who will be the #2 pick in the draft? Quite a few more choices there. Who will be the ... okay ... it goes all the way to the #8 pick. Will Falcons coach Bobby Petrino draft a Louisville player? Which skill position will the Packers draft first? Where will Alan Branch be selected? Will the Titans' first pick be a cornerback, receiver or something else? Will the Giants' first round pick be on offense or defense? Which player will be drafted first: an Ohio State Buckeye or Florida Gator? What round will Troy Smith be drafted? Will the Cowboys trade Julius Jones before the end of the draft? How many offensive players will be drafted in the first round? There are several more, and I'm sure if you do some more digging, you can find some more action on the internets. Still, if betting on the NFL Draft gets you your jollies ... you may need some help:
Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling? Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy? Did gambling affect your reputation? Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties? Did gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency? After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses? After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more? Did you often gamble until your last dollar was gone? Did you ever borrow to finance your gambling? Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling? Were you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures? Did gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family? Did you ever gamble longer than you had planned? Have you ever gambled to escape worry or trouble? Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling? Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping? Do arguments, disappointments or frustrations create within you an urge to gamble? Did you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling? Have you ever considered self destruction or suicide as a result of your gambling?
Bet On NFL - Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Football Sports Radio
Tonight's Monday Night Football matchups features the Washington Redskins (1-0 straight up 0-0-1 against the spread) and the Philadelphia Eagles (0-1 straight up 0-1 against the spread) in a NFC East showdown at Lincoln Financial Field and we have NFL betting fan's winning selection.
Prior to last Sunday’s 16-13 money-dropping loss against Green Bay as the 3-point favorites, Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb had not started a regular season game since November 19, 2006. Rust was certainly present in his performance, as he completed just 15-of-33 passes for 184 yards and one touchdown.
Despite the slow start, McNabb has won seven of his last eight starts against the Redskins, and he's passed for 1,285 yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions over his last five meetings against them.
Philadelphia has won nine of the last 11 meetings straight up with Washington, with the two losses coming in 2005. Including last year's playoff, the Eagles are 4-3-1 against the spread in their last eight games.
In their season opening loss, the Eagles' defense allowed a solid 215 yards overall, 169 through the air and NFL-best 46 on the ground.
Washington's running backs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts will have their hands full against Philadelphia's stellar rush stopping defense. In Week 1, Betts ran for 59 yards on 17 rushes while Portis gained 98 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown.
Last season, Betts rushed for 83 yards on 20 carries on the road in a 27-3 money-dropping loss on Nov. 12 versus Philadelphia as the 7-point underdogs and posted career highs of 33 carries and 171 yards in a 21-19 defeat on Dec. 10 at home which resulted in a push with the Eagles favored by 2.
In their 16-13 overtime win over Miami as the 3-point favorites in Week 1 that resulted in a push, receiver Antwaan Randle El collected a career-high 162 yards.
Note: Washington's right tackle Jon Jansen broke his right ankle last week early in the second quarter and could be out for the year.
Expect the Eagles to deliver the Redskins a large dose of running back Brian Westbrook, who rushed for 201 yards and added 75 receiving in last year's two games against Washington.
NFL odds display Philadelphia the 6.5-point favorites with a total of 39. If the Redskins can contain Westbrook and put pressure on McNabb they can win this contest outright, making Washington the wise play in this one.
