New York, NY -- Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper is ahead of all players in voting for the 2005 Pro Bowl, while Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb is one of three Eagles in the top-10.
Culpepper, who has 325,383 votes, has thrown for 2,712 yards and 25 touchdowns in nine games this season for the Vikings (5-4). He has completed 226-of-321 passes and thrown just five interceptions. Culpepper has thrown five touchdowns in a game three times this season.
McNabb has thrown for 2,426 yards on 188-of-297 passing with 18 touchdowns for the 8-1 Eagles. He has also rushed for a pair of scores and has thrown just four interceptions.
Twelve of McNabb's touchdown passes have been caught by Terrell Owens, who leads the NFL with 884 yards receiving on 55 receptions. In his first season with the Eagles, Owens also leads all receivers in touchdowns. Owens is fourth in the voting to this point.
Eagles kicker David Akers, who is 19-of-22 on field goal attempts, is 10th in voting. Akers has a 51-yard field goal to his credit this season and is a perfect 25-of-25 on extra points.
Indianapolis's Peyton Manning is second in voting. The Colts quarterback threw five touchdown passes this past Sunday in a 49-14 victory over Houston. Manning, who completed 18-of-27 passes for 320 yards against the Texans, has also thrown five touchdown passes in a game three times this season.
Manning has 31 touchdown passes through nine games, the fewest games played to reach that mark in NFL history.
The teams will be announced on Wednesday, December 22. The Pro Bowl will be played in Hawaii on Sunday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. (et).
Fans can vote for quarterbacks, tight ends, wide receivers, running backs and kickers. The AFC and NFC squads are made up of the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group's vote counts one-third towards determining the 43-man rosters that represent the American Football Conference and National Football Conference in the Pro Bowl. NFL players and coaches will cast their votes on December 20-21.
