The Peach Bowl's board of directors voted to agree to a new five-year endorsement deal with Chick-Fil-A worth $22 million.
The new deal would change the name of the game to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl starting in 2006. The game began as the Peach Bowl in 1968 at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and retained the name after a move to the Georgia Dome. Chick-Fil-A has been the title sponsor since 1997.
The last contract between the bowl and Chick-Fil-A was a three year deal worth $9 million. The game's payout to teams from the SEC and ACC will increase to over $3 million from the current $2.4 million, making the game the 2nd highest paying bowl outside of the BCS bowls.
