It’s when a sports bettor makes a pick or prediction with money on the outcome of a sporting event. Here’s a Football betting example: If the Dallas Cowboys are a +7.5 Road Underdog vs. the New England Patriots who are a –7.5 Home Favorite and the OVER/UNDER is set at 42.5. This means, New England must win the game by more than 7.5 points; otherwise win by 8 points or more. Therefore, for Dallas to win the wager, all they need to do is win the game straight up or not lose by 7.5 points.
Scenario A Final Score: Dallas 24 New England 30 (Dallas bettors win) Scenario B Final Score: Dallas 21 New England 20 (Dallas Bettors win) Scenario C Final Score: Dallas 14 New England 22 (New England bettors win) If a bettor is playing the total or as gamblers call the OVER or UNDE, this means if the bookmaker set the O/U line at 42.5, you take the combined final score of both teams, add it together and see if it went OVER or UNDER the set total.
Scenario A Final Score: Dallas 24 New England 30 (Over is the winning pick) Scenario B Final Score: Dallas 14 New England 22 (UNDER is the winning pick) Sports betting rules for FootballSports Betting information below provided by Bookmaker .
