Los Angeles, CA (November 7, 2006) – On Saturday, November 4, the date of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, TVG, America’s Horseracing Network, processed $6,708,450 in wagers, including $4,815,799 in wagering on the eight Breeders’ Cup races. Handle for the day was up 24.3 percent from Breeders’ Cup day in 2005, making it the second largest single day handle in TVG history, eclipsed only by 2006 Kentucky Derby day, when TVG processed $7,555,959 in wagers.
“The results demonstrated once again that fans continue to turn to TVG for racing’s premier events,” said David Nathanson, General Manager of TVG. “We congratulate our partners at the Breeders’ Cup on their record handle and we are happy to have been a contributor to that growth.”
TVG’s wagering handle on the eight Breeders’ Cup races was up 21.8 percent over the previous year.
TVG is the official sponsor of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint Division and marketing partner of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association.
