Mystic Lake Casino and hotel is named after the man-made lake of the same name located in the Shakopee-Mdewakanton Indian Reservation within the city of Prior Lake, Minnesota. The tribe operates the casino, which is very profitable due to its proximity to the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. It is said to be the second-most profitable Indian casino in the United States. Court documents indicate that tribal members each receive more than US$1 million each year.
